My name is Ben Field. Over the years I have enjoyed all kinds of fishing - and still do. I began sea fishing with my dad when I was about four years old in Newquay, Cornwall. By the time I was twelve I decided that I wanted to try coarse fishing. Fishing a lot at Lakeview Country Club near Bodmin I grew up fishing every weekend, either by myself, with friends, Roche Angling Club matches or further afield. I enjoyed lots of success over the years, in club events or in the various winter and summer leagues we had in Cornwall at the time. As I grew older, my travels took me further afield where again I enjoyed some success.
In about 2006 I eventually took a little time away from freshwater fishing. Moving to within walking distance of the sea, a love of lure fishing took over until eventually in 2010 I opened my first tackle shop - The Art of Fishing. We only really sold specialist lure fishing equipment and were very successful at it. To this day the shop remains (although we've upgraded shops a couple of times), but with my love for coarse and match fishing returning, the shop itself is now less specialist.
